Inspection Manager

MOSA is seeking qualified candidates for its Inspection Manager position with the goal of having this position filled by mid-2012.  

Responsibilities of the Inspection Manager

Management of the MOSA Inspection Program:

  • Recruiting, training, supporting and evaluating MOSA contract farm and handling inspectors in diverse geographic areas;
  • Hiring, training, supporting and evaluating MOSA  staff inspectors; and
  • Developing inspector trainings, forms and documents as needed.

Maintenance of the MOSA Inspection Program:

  • Assigning, scheduling and prioritizing of MOSA inspections; and
  • Maintaining inspector endorsement documentation.

Participation in the Certification Management and the MOSA Management Teams:

  • Working with Processing and Farm Certification Managers to maintain and develop the MOSA certification program; and
  • Representing the needs of the Inspection Department on the Management Team and contributing to the over-all management of MOSA.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities;
  • Strong personnel management, organizational and administrative skills;
  • Training and experience in organic crop, livestock and handling inspections; and
  • Background in auditing, HACCP, organic certification or legal/regulatory work.

This is a full-time position with benefits and requires working from MOSA's office in Viroqua, Wisconsin. Salary is highly competitive for a non-profit organization.
